I see everyone gearing up to head down south. Is there anybody wanting to go hit Surfside Friday? I'm planning on putting in at the Coast Guard Station at first light or a little after. Not sure if I'll head all the way out to the rig but will certainly be out there somewhere! I'm open to anywhere on the upper coast though.

Ah come on, The Slabs, Sea Rim, Galveston beachfront someone has to be going out!

I’m thinking about going surfside either Saturday or Sunday. And fishing the Galveston channel jetty today

I’ve never fished from surfside. How far do you all go out and what are you all targeting?

With what I'm hearing about water quality I'll probably just paddle aimlessly pulling a big spoon and a ribbon fish on hopes of finding some kings. There's also a chance I'll just anchor up and drop big cut mullet for bull reds. If there ends up being a group maybe even a rig run.

How far is it to the rig?

I believe it's 5 miles out. I'm yet to make that run hence hoping for a group to materialize.

I was waiting for my schedule to clear up and thankfully it did. If you’re still going out of surfside in the morning, I’m down to join. I don’t know if I’ll go out to the reef, I’ll probably stay a little beyond the jetties fishing for reds

I’m down to hit it Saturday morning, work the surf and jetties ealry can push out to the bouy or rig later
