Pool Noodle scupper plugs

I have some pool noodles and tried to make some scupper plugs for my T140. Is there a trick or good way to cut them? I have tried using a sharp knife and have only succeeded in making a big mess.
Do they have to be perfectly round? How much larger than the scupper hole should they be?
Thanks, this has turned out to be more of a "problem" than i thought.

All they have to do is plug the hole. If you haven't bought anything yet I've heard you can buy a pack of 4 practice golf balls from Academy that work pretty well for scupper plugs.

I went to Lowe's and purchased a couple rubber stoppers and sanded them down a little. works great for .99

use a rasorblade to cut the pool noodles.

piece of pvc pipe. a little bigger than your scupper holes.file it sharp. twist and push it through a solid pool noodle. makes a perfect plug.

For example..........
Make sure you sharpen the PVC pipe so the sharpened edge is even with the inside diameter (rather than the outside diameter). This makes the plugging-process much easier, since the foam doesn't compress as it slides through the pipe.

avoid all the cutting and measuring..
I had a similar problem with my OK speck with the odd shaped scuppers..
so I went to the pool toys isle an bough me some foam balls
cept they were round so I cut some in half and put in a string to ease the removal and i kept some round. the work FANTASTIC... keeps me high and dry.. it might be hard to find the foam balls today as the summer has not officially kicked in.. but look and you shall find.. I bought mine in clearance after the summer... less than $1 for 4 scuppers...
