Wanted: leader for the Galveston Bay Chapter
I hate to shut this forum down, but we really need someone to step forward and be the leader of this group. All you need is a desire to pull this group together and organize some gatherings, seminars, fund raisers, and community projects. Its a thankless task but you might get the satisfaction of knowing you helped to enlighten and educate some new converts to our sport. Apply by pm'ing me or Mrs. Backlasher.

In the NW Chapter we broke the Leadership task up into 5 elected / nominated positions. I'm sure this goes for everyone directly involved in the NW Chapter, it's a major benefit to have others to help organize the meeints. It's not an easy task with everything else going on in life.

I think I see the reason why this forum isn't doing well
If you look at the time my offer to help co-volunteer this forum was posted and see that their has still been no response almost 12 hrs later. Theres some real key indicators.

You can't measure the GGB forum in hours, sometimes not even in days. Most folks in this territory just post on the Saltwater forum, and a few other forums of interest like BTB, Off-Topic, Classified, etc.
Feel free to send Redline a PM (private message) and give him your cell phone number so the two of you can discuss ideas for the group.

hey guys, sorry for the lack of posting lately.
Ive been pretty busy with work and other things, and tend to not get much time of the computer during the summer months.
I in no way feel like I could completely organize/lead/set up everything included, especially with my school, but I am down for helping out as much as I can, and being a part of jump starting the forum/
...and feel free to stop by academy webster anytime. Im usually there

Re: Wanted: leader for the Galveston Bay Chapter
I was going to offer to put together something but I realized I barely have time to get my own crap together. Hopefully someone can keep this chapter from going the way of the dodo. Although truth be told, we all just post in the regular saltwater forum as mentioned.

Re: Wanted: leader for the Galveston Bay Chapter
I so rarely even think to check the postings in any of the chapters, let alone this one. It just doesnt occur to me since I spend most of my time on the saltwater forum.
I'd volunteer but I know myself. When it comes to group things, I am terrible at it.

What are y'all calling greater Galveston, from like the west end to kemah/bolivar? Also gathering s I'm guessing those are "hey such-n-such date, beer~thirty at louie's come fish that morning/afternoon and stay for the eats and drinks or just come for the eats and drinks" or "group trip this weekend"???
