There was a place in Pflugerville, suburb of Austin, called Granny's Kitchen. I swear they had THE BEST!!!
They'd run the meat through a tenderizer 12 times. It was so tender you could easily pull it apart. It had the absolute best flavor as well.
Other than that place, I'd have to say any grandma's house while growing up in the south had the best.

The last time we ate at Goodson's in Tomball the batter was so thick that it wasn't cooked, when I cut it everything was still raw, batter and all, now Mel's diner also in Tomball has a great chicken steak and everything else on the menu is great as well, better make sure you get there early because sometimes the wait takes awhile.

The restaurant in Snook, between BCS and Somerville simply known as "Steak" Theirs comes in 2 sizes large and small. The small is a huge steak that takes up a whole platter. The large is 2 stacked on top of each other!!!! The alos serve an"extra small T bone" at 16 ounces. Sometimes the smoke is so thick in there you can't see good.
