Lazy, but relaxing memorial weekend report!
It was great hanging out w/ some of the old cronies again. We arrived friday afternoon and the surf was pounding. Surf started to diminish as each day progressed. Weed everywhere so running the surf rods was also out of the question. I surprisingly managed to net some horse and medium size mullet. By Sunday/Monday it was choppy but doable. Some of the guys went out and decked some sharks. Majority of us stayed on the beach and enjoyed tasty adult beverages. I never made it on the water, just manned the bbq grill pit, relaxed and enjoyed some tunes. Comradery comes first, catching fish is a bonus.
Till next time....
Till next time....

Sounds like a good time. Sorry we never made it down. Plans changed when a drain pipe busted while putting up shelves and we needed to replace it.
Hope to catch up with everyone soon!

Nice photos. Especially the one of the ice cold beverages. No better time spent than at the DAWG POUND

Damn, I want to camp with you guys!
Re: Lazy, but relaxing memorial weekend report!
It was good to meet again old friends! Thanks to Rodney (roddawg) and Kristin, Billy (yaketyak), and Mark (mkr123 I guess) for the hospitality! Had an amazing time there. No so relax to endure those waves, but what the heck! This is what I love to do! Well, I had no intentions to go BTB, but since I had this newbie there with me, and Rodney had kayaks available, we decided to try it out. The newbie behaved well, we decked a couple of small sharks in 2 hours span (some under balloon and others on the bottom, bull sharks and Atlantic sharpnose, and of course, gafftops). The smallest being 2' and the biggest 4.5-5 ft. It was getting a little rough out there for my standards, the newbie got nearly seasick, and then we paddled to Mark saying we are going to the beach. He's been there for hours, 4-5 hours, he landed a couple of sharks as well. He is a pic of the newbie (Leo) with one of the sharks.
Hope to see all the ol'cronies soon!
The tequila was very good, the American honey, the Jamaican beer I traded with Rodney, the burgers, the sausage, and the company of some people from Dallas that just stopped by to hang out listening to 80's rock n roll on Bose speakers! A complete day!

Sounds like a fun trip! Nothing wrong with camping on the beach.

Mike,
Henry McKenna was a no show. If he did show up and it was ice cream conditions, Henry would of prevented me from getting out there.
Paulo,
Leo can use the yellow drifter anytime (pending the wife's permission). It seems Mike was right about the drifter having all the mojo. I should of kept the drifter and let the wife have the t140. Pic of her and the mojo drifter in 09. (Guy in the Orange fishndive in the background wasssssss some feller named Jolly Rancher or something like that).
We are looking at getting a travel trailer soon....upgrading the Dawg camp to accomodate everyone.

It was a very relaxing weekend hanging out with old friends and meeting new ones.It was great seeing Peterpan and meeting his friend Leo. Those surf shots are awsome Rodney. We had a nice breeze most of the weekend and very few bugs. Thanks Mark, for playing that mini Bose speaker set up for everyone. Thanks Rodney and Kristin, for the good times once again. We need to do it again soon!!
