Chris, and his brother Jason, welcomed Brian and me on a Team Project Healing Waters San Antonio & San Marcos, kayak paddle and fish, on the fabled San Marcos River. Although not related by blood, fly fishermen can be brothers on and off the water.
Brian is a Purple Heart recipient, father, husband, and friend. This was his first time to fly fish from a kayak, fish a river, and catch fish from both a fly rod and conventional gear. His last catch of the day was a monster largemouth bass, lurking in a floating bed of lily pads.
We paddled under the shadow of a bald eagle's nest, spooked a pair of wood ducks, and marveled at the majestic flight of a great blue heron. It was a true fin and feather kind of day.
Let's go fishing.

Re: Brothers
Warms my heart to see our troops getting the attention they deserve. Fly fishing, kayaking and fly tying are great for anything that ails you. God bless your efforts.
