Red Dot

Hey guys I wanna take my dad out on the kayak but he can not make long trips, How has Red Dot pier doing about now? I was thinking about going out there at night? Or we might go wade a few spot that paid off a long time ago. He has been out on the kayak a hand full of time and both of us were are PDF with lights and whistles. Any help would great.

i've gone out there a couple of times at night without any luck. I had heard it was good(drum) but they were using dead shrimp and fish bites. I tried gulp and different plastics. The one trout I did catch (18 inch) was on a shallow diver just as the sun went down but it wasn't close to the piers.
