Once upon a time.....TKFSA kayak meetings
Once upon a time, we met once a month to hang out, talk kayak fishing (fresh and salt water) and plan the occasional fishing outing.....then we stopped. I tried to revive the group and some interest was building and then our meeting spot went belly up. No agreeable alternative spot could be found and nothing much has happened since.
I am a pastor of a church that leases a community center every Sunday on Encino Rio, just north of 1604 off of 281. If this location would be agreeable to enough folks I would be glad to offer it as a meeting location for a once a month club meeting on a Sunday afternoon or evening. I would even be willing to be responsible for scheduling meetings, arranging for guest speakers and planning at least one fishing event.
If interested, comment here. For those who are wondering were the location is, the address is 1923 Encino Rio San Antonio, Texas 78259.
What say all?

If the dates/times work out in between kids' games, practices, scouting events, etc., I'm in. That's almost walking distance for me!

I always intended to go to one of those meetings, but never made it (usually because of work or school), but am interested...
I'd try to make it...

Only one way to gauge interest. Post a date/time and see who shows up.

Sorry guys, do to an unforeseen circumstance today's meeting is cancelled...
Re: Once upon a time.....TKFSA kayak meetings
I guess we could meet in an open parking lot or field, back up in a circle and tailgate it until the law runs us off. Seriously though, there's public places with tables large enough for a group to get together. I vote Kicaster Country Store cr3432 and cr324.

I live ten minutes from the Kicaster Country Store. Is it possible to schedule meetings there? Who would come?

Re: Once upon a time.....TKFSA kayak meetings
I'm thinking that perhaps a simple meet and greet at a local lake would be a good first start. Just simple fishing and shooting the breeze. If enough interest is present then proceed to more organized events like meetings. Kind of tough to set up an organization like a chapter on a first meeting. Location will impact turnout as some of the ideas floated would be difficult for me. I like ACK idea though, what better motivation to attend than to check out our newest location.

There would be two of us for sure.pompanoman wrote:I live ten minutes from the Kicaster Country Store. Is it possible to schedule meetings there? Who would come?
