Wed. Sea Rim Report

More bull reds and a whole lot of little sharks. Four kayakers showed up at Sea Rim today and fished shallow waters (6.5-8 ft.). There were about 45 bull reds caught and about 15 small sharks.

I started off slow today and went 2 hours without a fish in the yak then things picked up:

I was missing a lot of hookup on runs and finally found out what was causing it:



I caught 5 of them from 18 inches to 3 1/2 foot.

I ran out of bait at 12:30 and had to hit the sand. This is what the condition were like when I quit!



I don't think I was low man on fish count but there were several ahead of me.

I was a good, steady and fun day with some great friends.

It was a good day. I caught (or missed/lost) fish fairly steadily all day, ending up with 13 bull reds and no sharks. My fish were evenly divided between mullet and crab baits.

Looks like you guys had fun out there. I wish I could of been out there but work had me tied up. Thanks for the report and pics. If I can't be on the water, I might as well read about it and see pics.

I only caught 7 total bulls. Had lots more bites and break offs so it kept me busy all day. It was solid fishing and fun!

Spoon made it out there first and got on the water first... much to the chagrin of .... As usual for me, my action was either super fast and furious or sit and wait forever.. Around 1130 Bigfost kept announcing doubles over the radio so I went over behind him to potlick and all I got was a continuous show of indeed him pulling in doubles. I did take a fish home with me albeit a bit over slot so I tagged him and he will be dinner tonight. Wife cant complain about not bringing fish home for once.

Most importantly, this did not happen this trip!!!

Sorry to hear that. They are usually there. You have to move after 30 minutes if no bites I have found. They can be 100 to 200 yards away and just need to move to find them.
