Bull reds in McFaddin

Post by xmatador2000 »

So, technically this is not a kayak fishing report, but I figured that you guys would be interested because we fished McFaddin. I took Mom and Pop for some surf fishing last weekend. We caught a total of 5 bull reds from the shore. Mom caught her biggest fish ever taping at 41 inches. The fish were in the second gut so I didn’t have to take the kayak out. We would have caught more fish if it was not for the cold front and strong wind on Saturday afternoon. We all still had a good time!

PS: We saw the carcass of a bull red on the beach on Friday. It was filleted from the tail to about half the stomach. We found 3 more on Saturday morning with similar cuts. It looked like poaching to me.
