Trout on the coast
Trout on the coast
I think the Galveston trout will be ok. How about further down the coast have you guys down there seen anything about them?
Re: Trout on the coast
There is a December report where a member reported catching 100 in a day… I personally didn’t see much change fishing Aransas Pass the last 3 years. Same amount of trout I usually get.

I looked at the water temps at various gauges from Matagorda to the border and temps were into the mid 30's. There's also pics of frozen foam on beaches around Port O'Conner/Port Lavaca.
The water got colder than I thought it would, but definitely not as long Feb 2021.

Re: Trout on the coast
The important thing is that there is water, allowing the fish to move to safety.
What made the '21 storm devastating was a week of NW wind, isolating so many fish in the shallows.

Re: Trout on the coast
I have not noticed anything worrisome in the Corpus area. It got cold but not for long, and I didn't see a major dump here either.

That's good to hear. Hated seeing all the dead trout on the shorelines after the last freeze.

Saw a couple reports on another site and it wasn't good. From E.Matty south
