Local Fishing Spots

I'm up from South Padre working for a next couple weeks. I'm not at all familiar with the area. I am staying in a condo on Corpus Chisti Beach. During the week days I will be busy with work. Looking for some good spots to wet a line in the evenings or on the weekends. I took a ride yesteday to Port Aransas Pass and saw a bunch of yakers working the area. It looked like Kayak heaven! Didn't know if there was a honey hole closer to Corpus Christi Beach or if Aransas Pass is the place to go? If anybody is hitting the water and would like some company let me know.
