Which marina , or private ,public park ? I normally fish the coast , but my cousin told me that he saw it in the news the other night that a ramp , or park was open and kids were in the water, and boating. I would like to try it when it stops raining. I would sure appreciate the information.

I've lived in San Antonio close to 40 years and have never fished Medina Lake because of lack of access nor have I ever fished Lake McQueeney. Sorry nobody has answered your question.

You can put in at Red's Cove in Mico near the dam. I was out there a few weeks ago when the rain first started and they said the launch would be open the next day and the restaurant the following week. Hope this helps.

There is also a park at the end of park road 37 which intersects with Hwy 16 just a couple miles past San Geronimo.
Just stay on PR37 all the way to the end and you'll run into the park. It's privately operated now and they charge a fee. It had been closed because of the low levels, but I think I heard that it's now open.
I'm thinking I might have to make a run up there to Alamo Beach and Wharton's Dock which are my old stomping grounds and see if there is any water up that way in the river.

You would have loved McQueeney Mike! I miss the old lake which was my favorite of all the river lakes.

Post up a report after your trip!

Would love to hear how you did good or bad!
This time of the year the best time to be on the lake is right at day break. There should be some surface activity around the docks. White bass, and hybrid stripers usually break on the surface as the schools of shad are herded up. It's some fast action when they do!

The lake has been up for a while and I've been wondering if anyone has been out and doing any good fishing the lake?
Has there been any early topwater action for the whites and hybrids?
Any reports appreciated!
